Under contract to Universal Studios, an unknown actress, named Elizabeth Davis, arrived in Hollywood, California. Universal Studios changed her name for the movies, and five years later, the shes won an Academy Award for her work in "Dangerous"; followed in 1938 by another Oscar for playing Julie in "Jezebel". Her stage name? Bette Davis.
