Prosody* And Computerese, Please My keys convey computerese, my jukebox leaks jazz All of this and prosody makes me feel, makes me see On the monitor a black and white trail that sings to me does things to me, gives wings to once congealed ideas And so goes the slow boogie, steady and strong The feelings I fillet, assay, parlay into song meld creative with didactic verse subversive pictures with the universe I fly free-wrought thoughts above the impacted spin honorific hieroglyphics from my mine in time to flying galaxies that meld your mind with mine and by extension, bend your ear so that it hears Honey Hush with slide trombones, takes you far from home sifts syllables, lines without rhyme Scatters meter with a rug beater Worries ideas like a hound with a bone Shakes them, takes them and makes them your own Then you get loose, and you fly like a goose Over ochre plains, over domains obtuse all in time to the beat that moves your feet takes you to where ideas and ideals meet and you capture some of the rapture you’ve heard about but doubted Now you won’t care how tenuous your hold on reality, the banality of life, however old how tired you are of doing what you’re told Alex 5/30/07
