Srange phobia
Everyone is afraid of something, whether they will admit to it or not. While fears of heights, spiders, water and snakes are fairly common, there are people in the world who suffer from stranger aversions and fears.
Can you imagine going through life with ambulophobia, or the fear of walking? Or how about cathisophobia, which is the fear of sitting? For people who have heliophobia, it’s a pretty good bet that they won’t have a suntan – they fear the sun! Then you have panophobia, which is the fear of everything!
It’s easy to laugh at these phobias, but some can be destructive forces in the lives of their victims. People with agoraphobia, or fear large crowds, bacteriophobia, or fear of bacteria, and dromophobia, or fear of crossing streets, just stepping outside the front door can be a harrowing experience.
People can have a fear of nearly anything, and over time, a phobia can develop. That is not to say that phobias can not be overcome with treatment from a qualified mental health professional. Phobias do not have to control your life, and with the proper frame of mind, you can overcome any fear you may have.
