New research from the University of New South Wales, has found that one in three people with a strong family history of bipolar disorder (manic depression) are reluctant to have children due to the hereditary nature of the illness and its perceived social stigma. They did some research here in Canada on that and said bi-polars are believed to give birth to children with adhd and adhd 's quite often develop into bi-polars.
I always wondered if it was because the behaviour patterns were picked up by the children watching their parents or if it was all connected somehow in the first place? and where did it all start? ~Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, After all the reading I’ve done and also from life experiences, I look at it like this. All people are the product of both nature and nurture, in my mind, nature plays the biggest part. All people are predisposed to behave in certain ways. This predisposition comes from their genetic make up, which is determined by the genetic make up of their ancestors. Nurture plays a part, but not as big a part as some people “think”. To my mind, the upbringing and influences of growing up, tend to either make the underlying, disposition less severe or more severe. On the whole, how anyone reacts in any given situation, is governed more by genetics than upbringing. I’m sorry Rhonda, I have done a lousy job of this, my brain just won’t function at the moment. I’ve been pretty down and brain dead for a few weeks now and could really use a bit of mania, to kick start my brain again. I hope things have improved for you on the home front. Take care.

My dad is ill but finally gets into the doctors today... my sister called the docs office and riased a bit of raucous... I mena he had the stroke in January and cannot get into see his own family doc til April 24th There is something very very wrong with that. So i take him to the see his own doctor today.
